And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.(1 Peter 5:10)
Peter knows about going through a power outage. He has to be thinking about when he gave in and let God down. Telling people "I do not know Him!" when questioned about his relationship with the Lord? (Luke 22:57) Yet he repeats the very same thing Jesus said to him as he was restored. (John 21:15-19)He encourages all of us to allow Jesus to make us whole again.
As a doctor sets a broken bone, God alone can can and will restore the broken, the wek, the fractured lives we live. God alone can restore stability despite our feelings of uncertainty. God will give us the power needed to succeed, even when we seem to be drained ofevery ounce of energy. God alone can make us steadfast and unmoveable (1 Corinthians 15:58)in the face of the most threatening attack the enemy can muster.
God is the power surge we need. He is the generator when the lights go out. He is the eveready battery that never needs re-charging.
Are we plugged in?
