No Room for Egos

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
(James 3:17)

There is no room for egos when it comes to God's work. As He grants us wisdom to carry out His will, the work is done in harmony with one another with peaceful cooperation and cohesiveness. It's one for all and all for His glory! It is the entire Body working hand-in-hand to accomplish the will of God, not to bring any one person any claim to fame.

At least that is how James lays it out . . . . he would go on to say:

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
(James 1:27)

You see, religion is simply a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.(dictionary.com) A relationship with Jesus Christ involves much more than that. It is a lifestyle and a one-on-one intimate connection with the Creator of this world and the Lover of one's soul! Christ becomes the center of a true believer's life and his entire existence should revolve around pleasing the Lord!

Does this describe our lives today? Does it decribe our church? Well, we all have some work to do . . .Beginning with me!!!! Let's stop criticizing the world and begin to clean up our own heart's desires first. (1 Peter 4:17) May the Holy Spirit reign within us and shine throughout our lives. The world needs more of Jesus and less of me.
