May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.(Romans 15:13)
What is hope? Is it a maybe or an unsure optimism? The modern idea of hope is to dream about but yet there is no certainty of the fulfillment. It may be to desire very much, but with no real guaranteeof getting your heart's desire.
In God's Word, according to the Hebrew and Greek words translated by the word hope and according to the biblical usage, hope refers to certaintycertainty. Hope in Scripture means a strong and confident expectation. Though a bit old-fashioned today in modern terms, hope relates to trust and a secure outcome.
Many are hope-less today; no dreams, no vision, no future, no security. They see no future for themselves or their families. Desperation has set in. No job, forclosures, families split apart . . . yet there is hope in God;s Word!
I can only suggest that you try Him! God does not promise a rose garden here on earth . . . man ruined that idea in the Garden of Eden. Yet He does promise abundant life . . . eternal life with Him! This world is just a small portion of our life. As we live and trust in Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit, we begin to live out His promises and enjoy our heavenly position as a child of the Living God!
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
