09 24 07 We Are Not Alone!

"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."
(James 1:22 NIV)

Somebody’s watching me! You ever get that feeling? Someone is looking over your shoulder, a fly on the wall, recording your every move, every word? Well, in a sense someone is watching! God sees everything! He sees the sinner and He sees the saint. He sees the good and the bad. He sees the indifferent and the apathetic. What He does about it and when He acts is up to Him. But yet we live as if it really doesn’t matter at times.

In the Bible, in the book of Amos, the Lord used the analogy of a plumb
line to admonish the Israelites of their sin, saying, “I will test my people
with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore their sins.” The character of
God was the plumb line against which the ancient Israelites were measured. And it’s the same with us.*

God holds us to His Word and one day, if not THE DAY, He will call us to be accountable for our actions. Some of us have already felt His discipline. Some of us are on the run. Others are living in total denial of an all-knowing, ever-present, and able-to-see-everything-going-on–in-this-world God! Oh, it’s true we are free to live as we choose, but we are not free from the accountability for our actions.

God is not the only one watching. As a believer in the God of the Bible, we are being watched by a world of unbelievers as well. Do we really live the Truth we speak about? Do our everyday actions reflect our Sunday actions? In a nutshell, does our talk match our walk? People want to know!

Our children are watching our every move…every day! They will follow our footsteps and they do reflect our decisions.

As a believer in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we must do our part to live an honest and open life. We just can’t say one thing and do another. We must be willing to admit mistakes and confess sinful actions. Humbleness and honesty go such a long way to keep integrity in tact. Above all else, we must stand for God, because WE ARE NOT ALONE and we are not our own!

It has truly been a blessing to have met Jerry and Tamara Carroll. The heart that they have for children at risk is the epitome of the love God intends for us to show mankind. I appreciate the encouraging word in knowing that I am not alone and I know that as we let our light shine in the King Square community men and women will see our good works and glorify our Father, our King which is in heaven. May God continue to richly bless your ministry.
