03 26 07 Positive Attitude
"… Let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water."
(Hebrews 10:22)
It’s so important to have a positive attitude. We hear it at work, in school, in sports, and yes, in our relationship with Christ and one another. Satan would have us continuing to wallow in our guilty conscience, negative attitudes, and selfishness. He desires for us to believe we’ll be nothing and there’s no use trying. He’d also have us to talk negatively about others and their work as well. Misery loves company and Satan is out to seek as much company as he can get, because he is getting more miserable by the minute as his time is winding down!
"… but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:25)
The writer of Hebrews is encouraging the believers to not turn back. He wants them to press on and not dwell on the past, or even the present struggles, but spur one another on to good works and love one another. He writes to them to stay together and be together on a regular basis, even more so as things heat up.
It’s quite easy to let Satan get a hold of our attitudes when we isolate ourselves from fellow believers. We begin to believe the lies and rumors. We listen to the gossip. We give in to the flesh. Now, more than ever we need to have each others’ backs! We need to really think about what we say, what and who we listen to, and what we repeat! Do we have everyone’s best interest in mind? Are we being encouraging, strengthening, and spurring one another to good works? Let’s think about what is good, right, and lovely and do these things! The more we know of Christ, the more we grow in Christ, the more we should be growing as a family. As sports teams say, "We need to defend this house!" As a family of God, we need to defend one another, not look for opportunities to break down what the Spirit has built up.
I have no time for your foolishness Satan. Back off! Your days are numbered. Lord, help us to grow together in love and fellowship. Here’s to a more positive attitude among us all!
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
