As believers in THE Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His students (disciples, followers), we must beware: there is a lot of chatter containing worldly philosophy, empty deceit, customs and cultural traditions, and what we now call political correctness. Yet we have all we need in Christ!As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:6-10)
Once saved and sealed by His Holy Spirit, we belong to a new tribe! We are a new people. We are set apart for God's use and His glory! (1 John 4:4-5) People in the world speak and many have good things to say and valid points to make. However, as belonging to Christ, we must be sure we are aligning with Him and not the world!
Are we a living sacrifice for Christ, giving up our personal goals and even opinions for the Truths of God? Have our minds really been renewed? (Romans 12:1-2)
CHRISTian beware of philosophies and empty deceit!
