questions often asked of CHRIST-followers . . . .

What are CHRISTians like? What do They do/ not do? So how do they know we are CHRISTians? These are questions often asked of CHRIST-followers.

I have heard and even been instructed in some cases that there are a list of things that CHRISTians do and don' t do. Yet from the reading of this text and others, while I understand what behaviors are and are not appropriate, there is one characteristic of a CHRISTian that should be evident. . . . . LOVE!

Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”(John 13:33-35)
Are we known for our love at home, in the workplace, in the neighborhood, on the courts and ball fields? Are we known for our love when we get in traffic every morning?  Even in the church, are we known for our love as we give, volunteer, and sacrifice?

Forget the list of do's and don't . . . If we have not love, we have no testimony or influence for Christ! (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)

The song of the the 60's by Jackie DeShannon stated: "What the world needs now is love, sweet love". More so today . . . .don't 'ya think?

Stop focusing on the guy or girl with the cigarette, the saggy pants, the glass of wine, the mug of beer, the shaggy hair, the tattoos, the nose ring, or even the short skirt or loud and wrong music! Rather ask ourselves the question; "Can they feel the love of Jesus from me?"

Jesus won me over by His love. It is the only way we can win folks for Christ today. LOVE is what we should be known for, not our songs, our preaching, our clothing, our vocabulary, our diets, our buildings, or our habits! LOVE is what we need desperately!

This is so moving!

We all are held accountable for all we do . . .

Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right. The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both....
