Day 1. . . . .

It may say a bit old-fashioned but the saying still rings true . . . today is the first day of the rest of our lives. However, here is another challenge: live it as though it is the last day of our lives!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation; old things have past away; behold, ALL things have become NEW. ((2 Corinthians 5:17)
As many of us start a fresh school year as parents, students, teachers, administrators; remember these comforting words from Paul: Start fresh! Last year's issues . . . Last year's failures . . . Even last year's successes are in the past. This is a NEW year and God wants it to be fresh, new, and different! Gone and forgotten are the failed tests, after school detentions, missed assignments, and botched up projects. Gone too are the A's and perfect attendance along with the certificates and awards. Do not live in the past! Move forward! For the Christ-follower, this is indeed good news! God does not dwell on our past so why do we? It is a trick of the enemy. Stop looking in the rear view mirror and look ahead. It is a much bigger view and much more in focus!
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are NEW every morning; great is YOUR faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
