01 08 08 Awake My Soul (V)

(God Rocks: The Rock of All Ages)

They were caught off guard by this and, not at all sure they could trust him, they kept saying,
‘Isn't this the man who wreaked havoc in Jerusalem among the believers?
And didn't he come here to do the same thing—
arrest us and drag us off to jail in Jerusalem for sentencing by the high priests?’ “
(Acts 9:21 The Message)

Saul spent his time seeking after Christians and persecuting them to the point of death. He was there when the apostle Stephen was stoned and heard the prayers of a man asking for his killers to be forgiven (Acts 7). This no doubt influenced Saul’s thinking. But then Jesus met up with Him along the road to Damascus and questioned Him, “Why do you persecute Me?” There Saul’s life was changed and he became a new man, so much so he was to ne known as Paul and he would now spread the Word of the God and Savior whom he denounced, to the point of killing His followers. No wander people had to ask, “Is this the man who once chased us down and sought to kill us. Now he preaches the name of Christ?” He was definitely a changed man…from the heart!

Do others see us as changed? Since we professed Christ as our Lord and Savior, do others see us as a changed man or woman? Would those from our past recognize us today? Could we be convicted in a court of law of being a believer?

Jesus spoke to another Pharisee, but this one came to seek Jesus. This one was named Nicodemus, the teacher of the Jewish Law. He taught the Law, but didn’t recognize the Truth, even as it was staring him in the face!

“Now a certain man, a Pharisee named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council,
came to Jesus at night and said to him, ‘Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God.
For no one could perform the miraculous signs that you do unless God is with him.’
Jesus replied, ‘I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above,
he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ ”
(John 3:1-3)

How many today claim to know the Bible, yet don’t know Jesus? Sadly, many will go to hell knowing who He is, but never really knowing Him personally! There will be preachers, priests, Deacons and teachers who do not know the One they teach. Yes, even today, men and women; boys and girls; must be BORN AGAIN! A relationship with the Savior is personal; it is real; it is life-changing! The evidence will be clear for all to see. Things we once did we will no longer desire to do. Actions once pleasurable will become garbage and disgusting.

GOD ROCKS and He will rock the world of every believer if we really believe He is Who He is; THE ROCK OF ALL AGES!!!!
