Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)As we read in Nehemiah, even in times of struggle, we can praise God. Even though we have not been the best and always obedient to the Lord, we can rejoice in His patience, mercy, and amazing grace. Each day, we can be refilled with His joy, despite our circumstances!
And Nehemiah, who was the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the your God; do not mourn nor weep.” For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Law. Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:9-10)As the Jews returned from captivity, they were saddened by their behavior yet God's Word still gave them reason to rejoice. Convicted of sin, we too can repent, rejoice, and be refilled with His joy! Knowing the King of kings as Lord and Savior gives hope in a world of hopelessness. He is my exceeding joy indeed!!!!
What about you?
