But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)
You just cannot rely upon people's opinion too much if you are a Christ-follower. One must rely upon knowing and doing the will of God and trust Him at His word! Just look at David; a small-framed teen when compared to the mighty soldiers . . . even compared to his older brothers, yet God knew his potential! God knew his heart!
What is God telling you? What has He in store for you? Do you trust Him or are you listening to others' opinions? We all know these verses:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Will we trust God and live them out?
