Practical Application

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
Going to Bibles study, reading the Word daily, involved in ministry, going church . . . these all all noble and Godly activities. However, if we never really apply what we are learning . . . just "hearing" things and "being places", the effort is useless.
James reminds us to be "doers of the word" (James 1:22).
Have you ever left a church service and asked, "What was it that the pastor said in his sermon?" Have you ever gone to a Christian seminar or retreat and though you took all kinds of notes, one or two days later you can't even find the tablet or notebook in which you wrote the notes? Many times, we get so caught up in "doing" that we forget the reason behind all the activities . . . to become a more effective believer and to honor God more with our lives.
“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them” (John 13:17).
Satan doesn't mind if we are involved in Christian activities . . . as long as do nothing about it! Are we applying what we are learning?
