Different Than the Rest

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.(1 Peter 2:9-10)
SLO NO MO! Now we have a fast snail! This is an oxymoron if there ever was one! The newest in animated movies is Turbo, a snail who dreams of being the greatest racer in the world. He dreams of being like his hero: five-time Indianapolis 500 champ, Guy Gagne. His obsession with speed and all things fast has made him an oddity and outsider in the world of snails. Turbo is a fast snail in a world of s l o w n e s s ! Let’s look at the salmon as well. Once they have fully matured, they will swim back to their original stream or river where they re-adapt to the fresh water and swim back up the stream to reach their spawning grounds. Sometimes this means swimming up rugged rivers with miles of rapids and even waterfalls to leap. Once they get back to their natal stream, they breed and lay their eggs. The salmon’s life is constantly changing and rearranging, but following God’s design for the salmon! • Are we bold enough to be different? • Will we accept that God has called us to be OUT-standing? • Will we be willing to go against the grain?
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.(1 Peter 9:12)
