The world is not our friend!

You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
Many times we leave our first love (Revelation 2:4. . . our thoughts travel to what we want and what would be nice to obtain. But how often do we really ponder what God wants us to have? How much is this world influencing us on the day-to-day?
We make plans for our future based upon financial needs and future dreams. We plan for retirement and for our children's future. We plan and plan and plan . . . yet do we really plan for what God has in store? Do we really consider His plans (Jeremiah 29:11) Do we really believe that if we serve Him first He will surely provide all we need for this life? (Matthew 6:33)
In planning for the future, even for the remainder of this day, let's remember to join God at work and allow Him to lead. The world is not our friend. We need to put God first in all things!
