Don't You Know?

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
(Isaiah: 28-29)

Wow . . . these are tough times! it is one thing when people have a hard time making ends meet, but when the country faces severe debt issues, people really panic. Look at all the riots, national mutinies , and nation-wide uprisings across the world recently. Could this happen in the U.S.? Maybe . . .

But don't you know . . . God knew this would happen! Perhaps He is allowing it to bring us all to our knees and to re-focus on the Source of all of our resources! God has done this in the past for His people . . . but the key is repentance and a turn toward God, not man and His solutions. Though an Old Testament promise and not necessarily for us, prayer still changes things . . . God still hears from a humbled people! Have you not heard?

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
(2 Chronincles 7:14)

With all the solutions that all the intelligent men and women in Washington, DC have not been able to come up with, I have not heard the name of Jesus come up or even a call for a national day of prayer! I do recall previous leaders, President Lincoln comes to mind (March 30, 1863), who have done so. What are we afraid of anyway . . .

The Lord of lords and King of kings is still in control!
