Where are our minds?

It's officially December and almost instantly our sights are set on CHRISTmas preparations, decorations, shopping, gifts, and trips. What do we buy? Where do we go? What do we do this year? Visions of sugar plums dance in our heads . . . Get the picture? But wait . . .
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.  For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. (Colossians 3:1-5)
Where are our minds right now? If we are focusing on the good things . . . the right things . . . the Godly things of life, then the wrong things have no room to creep in to our minds! Check the thought patterns. Practice focusing on the things that please God. Surround ourselves with more righteous activities. Lay aside all the music, TV, social media and unwise clatter. Analyze the time we spend on trivial things of life and rearrange our thought patterns.
The bible is clear: we must take active steps to stay focused upon what God wants for us. Step one . . .
. . . .looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.(Hebrews 12:2)
