It's nice to share! Invest forward . . .

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to sharestoring up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.(1Timothy 6:17-19)
It has been said that the poorest in the USA are still the richest in the world. I understand that. While we do not have a lot as a bi-vocational working middle class mission family, God has blessed us with so much compared to the places we have served in the past 22 years. From folks on the island of St. Vincent, the poor in Jackson, MS, the heartbroken and devastated in New Orleans, flood victims in Columbia, SC, and most recently the ravaged US islands in Puerto Rico, God has called us to serve not only here in the DMV, but across the states and over the Atlantic. We have witnessed so much heartache and pain, yet the sweetest spirits and hearts still praising God despite the situation. We have been blessed beyond belief that God has chosen to use us as broken and imperfect as we are! We are indeed RICH!

We could not have housed more than 65 individuals and families in our own home, served thousands of homeless, coached and mentored hundreds of teens, or led countless to Christ without YOUR generousity! We may have answered God's call to "GO" (Isaiah 6:8) but you have sent us and continue to send us today! You have invested forward and we are grateful as are the ones we have served through your kindness.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.(Matthew 6:19-21)
So we continue to humbly ask for your partnership so we can go and serve.  We are nearly at our team goal to serve in Puerto Rico this summer. In six weeks we leave for ten days of community service with ten teenagers. Please support what God is doing! God bless you for your sacrifice!!!!
