So loud that we cannot hear!

Music . . . . Video . . . . Youtube. . . . Instagram . . . . Snap . . . . Anime . . . Facebook . . . . Twitter . . . . So many words, so much video, noise everywhere today!
So loud that we cannot hear!
We cannot hear the words. We do not feel the pain. We are too busy to experience the grid or even celebrate the joy. We are so numb that we don't see the blood oozing from their heart or the life draining from their soul! There is too much NOISE to listen!!!
And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”  So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him,  saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?”He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”  And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.  (Luke 18:36-43)
Jesus took time to listen, not to the just the noise or the loudest noise, but to the least loudest of all! He heard the quietest voice among the crowd. He not only heard, but listened! He cared. He then reacted personally to the need.

Are we too caught up in the popular noise of this world? Are we quiet enough to hear the still small cry of a child, the loneliness of a elderly grandparent, the starving soul of a neighbor, coworker or classmate?
Are we living, loving, and listening as Jesus did?
