When the Seas Get Rough . . .

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. (Psalm 62:5)
If you are anything like me, there are numerous times you think out loud . . .even SCREAM out loud, "God, where are You? Do You see what is going on?" I cannot help but think of Peter as he spotted Jesus on the water:
Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." (Matthew 14:28)
As we go through struggles in life and we call upon the Lord, we have to stay focused upon Him. Like Peter, if we take our eyes off of Him for even a second, we will find ourselves drowning in fear, confusion, and doubt. Once we try to figure out things in our own mind, we begin to lose focus on God's plans. Despite the distractions, we must keep our eyes, our minds, and our hearts on Jesus and His Word. When the waters get deep . . .when the waves become rough . . .when we are in over our heads . . .this is when THE Lifeguard beckons us to walk on top of our troubles and to come to Him! Go ahead . . .step out of the boat . . .take a step . . .Trust Him!
