That time of year . . .

. . . Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. (Romans 12:12-14)

This is a challenging time of year. Not everyone is joyous. Not everyone is full of CHRISTmas spirit. Many are depressed, suffering from memories of loved ones recently gone or from relational struggles. Many are lonely, alone, and in need.

These are the times when God's people must look above their own needs and seek others to assist, to encourage, to love. Even if we are struggling, we must look to others to give. It is what Christ would have us to do. As we meet others' needs, our needs diminish.

Rejoice in the coming Savior. Be patient, knowing He sees our struggles and knows our pain. Stay in prayer and be a light in the darkness!

No matter what praise Jesus, do right by the lord, and bless those who dislike you and for those who need blessing, always bless others and never curse them.
