I Can't Wait!

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which SHALL be revealed in us. . . For we were saved in this hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly await for it with perseverance. (Romans 8:18-25)

I can't wait for the weekend! I can't wait for Thanksgiving break! I can't wait for CHRISTmas! Then the time arrives . . . and it's gone!!! The things we look forward to in this world are nice breaks from the everyday routine, yet when they arrive, it seems as if they fly by so quickly. Even when we receive things we have eagerly desired, when we get them, the thrill of receiving the item seems to never be as exciting as the wait.

WHY?

All these things are temporary: they do not and will not last forever. There is always the next thing . . . the better thing . . . the more exciting thing. However, as the writer reminds us, the things of God, the things we cannot see quite yet, are not temporary moments of excitement, but rather eternal in nature and reward!

So while we might find glimpses of joy in these moments of pleasure on this earth, as we learn to anticipate God and work toward heavenly rewards, we find real lasting JOY knowing that everything we do for HIM will last forever

I CANT WAIT!!!!!!

Very true. It is good to get away from reality for a bit but we can't let that cloud up our true reality. We always say how we can't wait for for something but then become a bit down when it comes and goes but we should be thankful that God even gave it to us because there are people out there who live in the reality of homelessness everyday without a break from it.
