Not about the suffering . . .

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
We all are trying to extend our lives in some way. We work out. We diet. We are constantly trying new foods, new vitamins, and the like. Yet our bodies are still decaying day by day. While it is good to be healthy, we cannot avoid death! As we live for Christ, we will suffer hardships. Some of us may go through more than others. Yet the more we focus on Christ and less on us, we become better servants and more effective for Him. (James 1:2) So stay on that exercise program and get in the best physical shape possible. It will enable us to better serve and be more equipped to handle the struggles, physical and spiritual. However, remember that the heart must be focused on the will of God. No matter what we go through, if we remain focused on doing His will, we will please Him and that is really all that matters. We look forward to being with the Lord, yet we live now to please Him. What an opportunity we have have in the years ahead. Since we do not know how long we have on this earth, let's make the most of the days remaining!
It is not about our suffering, but our serving!
