"See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."(Malachi 4:5-6)
The Lord IS coming back . . . that is for certain. However, God is continually giving us chances to repent . . . to turn from our wicked ways and accept Him as Lord and Savior. Here in the final book of the Old Testament He lets us know that He will send His messenger before He returns. Some believe this was John the Baptist, while others belive this may have been when Elijah appeared with Moses at the Transfiguration (Matthew 16:28-17:8). Others believe it will be an Elijah-like figure to appear at the end times.
The bottom line is this: before one dies or before Christ returns, whichever comes first, one must acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and repent of their sin. If we do not turn from our sinful ways, there is a curse awaiting. We are doomed to eternal hell without the blood of Christ!
Don't wait . . . today is the day to call on the Lord and compel others to do the same!
