Between a Rock and a Hard Place\

“For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?” (Psalm 18:31 NIV)

Jesus is indeed a protector. Who can protect us from any seen or unseen danger but our Lord? David knew it. Many times he had been hunted down yet God preserved him for greatness. He shielded him within the crevices and hid him among the caves. The Lord even protected David from the consequence of his foolish choices in life, showing grace as the psalmist expressed repentance and true heartache over his sins. Yes, when found BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE, David found rest in the Rock!

There is not denying it: today, 2008, we find ourselves in a hard place economically all over the world. Some may be in a hard place physically, battling illness. Some may be in a hard place emotionally. Still others may be in a hard place facing spiritual decisions: do I trust the God of the Bible or the gods of this world?”

Oh, but The Rock yet stands…inviting us to “Come!” Come to Me all who are heavy burdened. Come to Me those who need healing. Come to Me those who are weak. Come to Me those who hunger and thirst. Come to Me those who need shelter. Come to Me those who are drowning in the midst of storms. We have to realize the answer does not lie in the hard place, but in the Rock!

Jesus is standing at our doorstep. He is beckoning from the seashore. He is calling out from the street corner. He is announcing on Wall St and on Main St, “Come to ME!”

As sinners, we either fall on the Rock or the Rock falls on us. As I find myself wedged between A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE, I rest in the Rock. He gives me hope, confidence, assurance, shelter, and a peace the hard place can not give, no matter how many bailouts those in the hard place can muster. The only sure fire solution lies within the Rock!

Woooo! Boy did that revive my downcast spirit and give me a better outlook on the situation. Thank you for reminding me which rock to rest in.

4-24-24 . . . .backward and forward . . . today is today no matter how we write it.

Today is 4-24-24. No matter if we write it forward or backward, it is still 4-24-24. This reminds me of my scripture today . . . Look at God...
