"Therefore be very careful how you live – not as unwise but as wise..."
(Ephesians 5:15)

As believers we need to never stop learning: learning God’s Word to be able to apply it correctly, learning about the world to apply the Word properly and in the right context, and learning about people to be able to properly meet their needs.

There is a fine line between applying God’s wisdom to the world and being conformed to the world’s way of thinking! Too many believers today have watered-down, no, dummy-downed the Word of God just to appease the people to whom they are speaking. His Word is already culturally relevant. It’s we who are not up-to-date on culture. We refuse to study and be properly prepared to share correctly.

In today’s culture, we can’t simply spout off a few memorized verses of Scriptures and expect a sinner’s prayer to come from a convert’s mouth! It’s more than a planned outreach or a short-term mission trip, though these are good starting points. We first need to apply ourselves to a structured learning of His Word. Secondly we need to study the culture we are in (news reports, internet news information, being aware of surroundings at the local mall, rec centers, and schools, and be willing to invest time into people. Relationships are key in a world where no one trust hardly anyone anymore, much less a God they can not see! Each day, each conversation, each time we perform a task, is an opportunity to show Christ to a watching world. We need to expect an opportunity to share His love with someone every day!

We need to all commit to go to school every day; THE SCHOOL OF LIFE. We have a short time to make a mark in this world. What will we leave behind; a diploma, a degree, a successful Fortune 500 business, a Hall-of-Fame career, or a legacy of being willing to learn from the lessons God teaches us throughout life and taking the time to share those lessons with those He places in our path? Let’s walk circumspectly and see around our everyday life with spiritual eyes, not with blinders on our eyes. It’s a wide world of opportunity to start a relationship that leads to someone’s eternal peace with God!
