03 19 07 Just In Case We Forget
"Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told to you since the very beginning? Have you not understood from the time the earth’s foundations were made? He is the one who sits on the earth’s horizon; …
He is the one who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain…
He is the one who reduces rulers to nothing…
‘To whom can you compare Me? Whom do I resemble?’… "
(Isaiah 40:21-25)
Just in case we forget, occasionally we might hear God whisper to our hearts, "Did you forget who I am?" We become so caught up our routine, so strung-out with our struggles, so frustrated with the day–to-day that we forget Who God really is, or should be, in our lives. We do not communicate with our Daddy on a daily basis, not letting Him in on the little things we face, and suddenly we are faced with major dilemmas! We’re so out-of-touch with God, that we then try to fix things on our own, only to fall deeper into trouble, tumbling further down into despair, anger, depression, and helplessness.
We need to go back to when we first learned of His love. We need to remember when we first heard His voice. We need to remember the story we were told of His grace, His forgiveness, His passion for us, and His strength to do ALL things to make us successful, in His will. Just in case we forget at times, we need to go back to the day we first believed and placed all our trust, hopes, and dreams, along with our sins, at the foot of the cross.
He is just as lovely, just as powerful, just as forgiving as He has ever been. His love for us never changes. We forget! We take our eyes of Christ; He is always watching us! It is good to look back, even today. To whom can we compare our God? Who can even come close? Tired? Weary? Stumbling? Fainting? Lost your GPS?
Seek His face. Stand upon His promises. Wait on the Lord. Trust Him once again…, again…, and again! Just in case we FORGET:
"But those who wait for the Lord’s help find renewed strength…" (Isaiah 40:31)
